You guys know how I do it at Playeressence, I try to be balanced. I just posted a video with Rich from ReviewTech blasting Nintendo and agreeing with Jason Rubin. Now I’ll post an article discussing some good news on Wii U. Check it out here. Thanks Ricard for the tip! Btw Ricard published a new article yesterday.
You guys asked for him, and he has responded. Ricard Julianti is finally back with another interesting, amazing, and thoughtful opinion article. If you only have time to do one thing today, make sure it’s to read this article.
Brayden Cole from ACHP discusses Jason Rubin’s controversial comments on Nintendo.
Gimme Gimme Games site owner Kevin Femmel, has discussed Jason Rubin’s thoughts on Nintendo’s hardware being “irrelevant”. Get a snippet of the interview below.
Nintendo Enthusiast’s Shawn Long has published an interesting discussing why negative Nintendo news is so popular. Get a snippet of the article below.
Playeressence user and major news contributor Anti, has brought to light an interesting comparison of Deus Ex Human Revolution Director’s Cut UK sales. It seems like the Wii U version did ok, but the PS3 and Xbox 360 completely flopped. See all the comparisons with links and numbers below.
Ok, so I got Sonic Lost World at midnight and got to play through the first couple levels. And my knee jerk reaction to the game is that its pretty good. I’m going to be reviewing the game on my PE Reviews channel, so stay tuned for that on Sunday or Monday. Nintendo has uploaded the Sonic Lost World launch trailer as well, check it out below.
Gaming Blend is really trying to start something here. In an article by William Usher, he claims that the Wii U has more “next-gen” games, that run in 1080p 60fps, over the PS4 and Xbox One . I’m not going to agree or disagree, I’ll just post some of the stuff he said, then link the whole article.
We all know Nintendo just delayed Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze on Wii U. However, this brings up a great opportunity to purchase a quality third-party game in its wake.
One of our users Eyeofcore, has a amazing breakdown of the Wii U’s specs in response to a thread asking if the Wii U is powerful enough to handle GTA 5. Get the full breakdown below.
Ok, so next Sunday the Deluxe Wii U Set drops in price by $50 and retailers start to phase out the Basic 8GB Wii U set. When Nintendo announced the price cut and the 2DS, it was via press release and YouTube videos, not Nintendo Direct. I have a feeling Nintendo is going to have a small Nintendo Direct next week to hype up the Wind Waker HD Bundle.
Although Reggie Fils-Aime thought the PS4 and Xbox One’s launch line-ups are “meh”, that doesn’t mean there are not some good games for each system at launch. Get the full breakdown of the PS4 and Xbox One’s launch line-ups below.
Here we go again, Nintendo doomed, and not because of Sony or Microsoft, but Apple and their new iOS gaming service that’s coming. I said I wouldn’t link this article but after reading it, I couldn’t help but laugh at its stupidity. There are more holes in it than swiss cheese.
In the four weeks Pikmin 3 has been out in Japan, Wii U sales have risen 117% from the previous four weeks. Get the full statistical break-down below.
timg57867 insisted I put up this article from GenGame, and since I am a man of the people, tim’s request will be fulfilled. Check out this article discussing why the Wii U can still pull through this generation, it’s a nice change of pace from all the doom talk.
The June NPD numbers are in, and the industry is set in a massive slump right now. PS3 sales are down, 360 sales are down, the PS Vita is selling horribly and the Wii U is not much higher than that. However, there is one shining star, and that is the 3DS. Get the full breakdown of the numbers and my own personal analysis of each systems performance.
This is a outstanding opinion piece surrounding the closure of studios and Nintendo 3rd party support. Check it out past the link. And thanks to donzaloog for pointing out this article.

Have you heard? Microsoft removed the DRM restrictions for the Xbox One! Gaming is saved and it’s okay to love Microsoft! They won’t try to violate our rights ever again! The internet won, right? Well, not exactly…
Gengame.net has an interesting article looking at whether multiplatform actually do better for the series than console exclusives.
I came across another great article from SuperPhillip Central, regarding EA’s stance on Wii U. EA are a bunch of lying scumbags that use the media to manipulate gamers into thinking they tried their best on Wii U. When in actuality, they didn’t try at all. SuperPhillip Central calls out EA in this new opinion piece.
This morning, Nintendo had its big E3 Direct presentation. From a pure games standpoint, this one absolutely blew me away. It may not have been an hour-long as speculated, but it was jam-packed with announcements.
E3 has finally arrived, the day we’ve all been waiting for. Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft and Sony all gave press conferences today so I thought I’d share my thoughts on each. Keep in mind that I wrote each segment directly after each conference so the impressions given are my true initial reactions.

When looking at sales numbers, most people would agree the magic number to get to is one million units sold. Of course publishers would love more than that, but it’s a safe bet that your game could turn into a franchise if you hit that one million mark. However, not all games are given the opportunity to sell that much.
Ricard Julianti is back for another opinion piece on Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Gaming Expo. Get the whole article past the link.
I usually won’t make articles like this, but Microsoft and YouTube have left me baffled. Hit the link for more details.
Although the Sega Saturn didn’t enjoy a long life, it did have some amazing games on it. I was over at a buddies house today. And we fired up some classic Sega Saturn games. Needless to say, I had more fun in that hour and half than I’ve had with the PS3 and Xbox 360 in years.
Ricard Julianti’s third opinion piece looks at the fable that is EA, and how the company is full of lies, deceit, and BS.
As most of you guys might have heard by now, EA has stated Madden 25 will not be hitting the Wii U this year. Which, I have no problem with. EA and Nintendo have a strained business relationship over the whole Origin on Wii U thing. But it’s what they said next that pissed me off.
