At first, Alienware said their Steam Machines won’t be upgradeable. However, that was wrong. The Alienware Steam Machines will be upgradeable. The firm’s Frank Azor clarified the issue with Eurogamer.
The Alienware Steam Machines will be launched in September, and according to the firm’s general manager Frank Azonr, the machines will be released each year with no customization options on the hardware.

It’s no secret EA’s Origin service is in direct competition with Valve’s Steam service. However, that won’t stop Gabe Newell and Valve from allowing all Steam Machines to run Origin. Valve co-founder Gabe Newell said it would be “fine” for Origin to be on Steam Machines.
Valve has announced that the Steam platform has over 75 million users. They also showed off a graph depicting sales by region. North America and Western Europe made up 81% of the total sales for 2013. See the sales chart by region below.
In a move that is sure to please many, Valve has revealed the newest concept for the Steam Machine controllers. The dual trackpads remain, but the controller now sports four face buttons and a D-pad. Valve also confirmed the controller will use AA batteries. However, Steam Machine makers are allowed to produce their own versions of controllers. Alienware plans on releasing their version of the Steam Machine this September. Pricing and specs were not revealed, but they do plan to have another announcement in the near future on that. The price should be somewhere around the PS4 and Xbox One, according to Alienware.
