I don’t want to toot my own horn……but I’m going to. The popular gaming site, ‘The Escapist,’ used my Xenoblade Chronicles sales article in one of their stories today. This is the same website popular game journalist Jim Sterling works for. I’m honored and happy that they would use my piece as reference. I want to thank all of you, the PE faithful, that spread the word of the Playeressence.
GameStop Explains Xenoblade Chronicles Pricing, Reveals more Copies of Metroid Prime Trilogy on the way
GameStop has provided an official statement on Xenoblade Gate, as I like to call it. GameStop had been accused of printing new copies of Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii, gutting them, then labeling them as ‘pre-owned’ for a staggering $90.
Want to get a pre-owned copy of Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii? GameStop has you covered…..for $89.99. Which is a bit of a discount from the $100+ on Ebay.

When looking at sales numbers, most people would agree the magic number to get to is one million units sold. Of course publishers would love more than that, but it’s a safe bet that your game could turn into a franchise if you hit that one million mark. However, not all games are given the opportunity to sell that much.

I might have to break out my happy dance, because Walmart and Best Buy have both listed Xenoblade for the Wii U. Meaning, Xenoblade Chronicles, arguably the best RPG of last generation, is being remade in HD for the Wii U.

Xenoblade was one of the best games released this year period. Boasting a heavy 92 average on metacritic with countless perfect review scores, Xenoblade was the best JRPG to come out this generation. But many US gaming publications are leaving it off of their overall game of the year considerations (Gametrailers, IGN, GameInformer, to name a few), instead opting to crown it Wii/Wii U game of the year. In other words, a cop out. Xenoblade deserves to be in every ballot for game of the year, what Monolith Soft did with the ancient Wii hardware was nothing short of a miracle. The Wii was not liked by many gaming outlets, the shunning of Xenoblade in Game of the year results has me to believe Xenoblade is getting the shaft because it’s on the Wii. If Xenoblade was on the PS3 or 360, do you think it would have received more overall Game of the Year nominations?

Great console JRPGs are few and far in-between this console generation. We have seen some good ones like Lost Odyssey, Residence of Fate, and Star Ocean: The Last Hope, but none of these JRPGs are as good as Xenoblade is cumulatively. As a matter of fact Xenoblade just isn’t one of the best JRPGs this generations its one of the greatest games of all time. In the next few paragraphs i’m going to break down all the “awards” Xenoblade does. Awards will be things Xenoblade does from some of the best games in the industry.
