Codemasters Finds the PS4 Easier to Develop for than the PS3
GRID 2 Developer Codemasters is happy with the design of the PS4 over the PS3, as they find it easier to develop for.
In an interview with Edge, senior executive producer Clive Moody discussed the difference between the PS4 and PS3 coding.
“The general consensus amongst our guys is the architecture is a little easier to get our heads around”, Moody replied. “It’s no secret that PS3 was tough, very, very, bespoke architecture.
“It was something that took us and a lot of developers a lot of time really to just understand how to squeeze the best out of it. I think from the off with PS4 architecture it’s going to be easier to get results.
“The last thing we want as developers is stuff in the way of producing and creating experiences so that’s a massive plus.”
Elsewhere in the article Moody confirms that GRID 2 is staunchly a current-gen title, so we probably won’t see it announced for PS4.
So it seems like we’ll be getting better ports on the PS4 than we did on the PS3 from Codemasters.
