infamous-second-son-walkthrough

Just picked up InFAMOUS Second Son on PS4 on Amazon for $19.99. It’s not the best game in the world, or innovative, but it’s really fun and cheap. You can grab your copy here.

I enjoyed InFamous 2 but from what I’ve seen and played of 2nd Sons seems like several steps backwards

This game was great but nothing amazing. It’s a solid foundation to set up a fantastic sequel.
Things I would like to see in a sequel are side quest that actually have stories and rewards. A longer story, and much bigger open world. Upgradeable stats (like damage, speed, defense). A bigger skill/ability tree with more options (not just combat based). A buddy/companion system so you can have party members join you in missions. Dialogue choices in quest (which affect outcomes) and with your party members which allow you to build relationships with and eventually romance them (gay/lesbian or bisexual companions should be included). A build your own character, with multiple class choices each with different powers and styles of combat. Customizable clothes. Stealth as an option for combat. And finally a base that you can build, expand, decorate, and talk with your conduit companions.
I’m a huge RPG fan so these features appeal to my taste in gaming perfectly.
I can’t wait to see what’s next from Sucker Punch they are right up their with Naughty Dog for me, I love the Sly Cooper and Infamous series.

Sounds like you just want Mass Effect mixed w/ Fallout.

Haven’t played Mass Effect, but Dragon Age Inquisition was pretty good I wish I didn’t get rid of it, I needed the money to get Witcher 3 and Splatoon. And what I saw from Fallout 4 at E3 looked amazing, I’m very excited to try the series.

You should probably check it out Mass Effect then. Personally, I’ve grown tired of the BioWare formula, and didn’t care much for Fallout 3. I’d just rather have InFamous focused like a laser and build upon what they already set up.

          • GreysonSeijuro

That’s fine, these are just features I would like to see. It’s how I would want them to build upon it, I love the idea of playing as a X-Men like character so if they gave me all of those features it would probably be my favorite game of all time.
And sadly I don’t have a last gen console anymore so I will have to wait for a remaster or Mass Effect Andromeda.

When I say build upon what they already set up, I mean the core gameplay. Adding in more powers, abilities, more and better enemies, bring back things they dropped in the previous game. Not add things that don’t really make the base gameplay any better.

          • GreysonSeijuro

I know what you mean, it’s subjective if they make the game better though, I don’t mind if they do what your talking about, I’m just putting out some new ideas on how they can expand the franchise in a way I would like. That is all :)

          • Agt_Pendergast

I guess. I just feel like gaming is getting homogenized.I’d rather they take what’s good in the series and make it better, cut what isn’t and not waste resources expanding it by making it more like something it’s not.

          • GreysonSeijuro

That’s cool but it being a waste of resources is also subjective, and we could say we don’t want a game to be like something it’s not, but I don’t see something wrong with making big changes to a game. Nintendo did it with Super Mario 64 and even Mario Galaxy was a pretty different kind of Mario game.
But if you want a solution then they could just make it a spinoff to the main series, and it would still be in that awesome creative superhero universe that I love so much. It could be called Infamous Alliance or Infamous: Legion Of Conduits :)

          • Agt_Pendergast

Mario games were platformers, and the 3D series enhanced that aspect of them (or at the very least provided something different as a platformer). Having romance options doesn’t do anything for the superpowered character aspects of the game, which is what the series established itself with. The problem is the game getting homogenized Not everything needs rpg stat grinding tacked on, just like not every game needed multiplayer modes.

If it is a spin off, they should do something interesting within the genre to warrant being in it. Not just have standard rpg tropes wearing the games skin.

It’s already interesting to me so I’m not worried about it being “homogenized”, especially when the new features I want aren’t super common anyway.
I wouldn’t want a sequel to not try anything that isn’t an improvement over how the series established itself, for instance the Zombie mode is my favorite part of COD. And I like the idea of leading a party of other conduits which you can talk to, do missions with, and romance, that would be an awesome feature and it could work great with the karma system since your the leader and will be making choices!
That’s all I have to say on the matter, we can just respectfully disagree :)
