Iwata Confirms Japanese Wii U & 3DS Nintendo Direct

Nintendo’s President & CEO Satoru Iwata has confirmed he will be hosting a Japanese Nintendo Direct that will focus on the Wii U and 3DS. Expect to hear more information on the ‘Year of Luigi’ titles, and new information on Wii U and 3DS games.

Nintendo will also shed more details on the Major Wii U system update, that will bring faster OS times to the Wii U. The update is scheduled for next week.

Oh, but Nintendo has abandoned the Wii U just 4 1/2 months after it released, right?

I just got Monster Hunter yesterday (Target is having a buy one get one half off sale, I also picked up Lego City), I hope it's as good as everyone says, it will be my first Monster Hunter game. I just started Ninja Gaiden though, so it will be a while before I actually try it out.

I picked up Monster Hunter, Lego City, and Sleeping Dogs (because screw you EA….I'm not buying NFS even though I generally like Criterion) back when Target had a buy 2 get 1 free deal.

MH3U is my first MH game too. At first I was kind of "eh" about it, but then something just….clicked. Sadly it took about 9 hours to get there, but once you start actually hunting monsters and start to figure out everything, it is really addictive. The time really flies and figuring out each weapon type is actually quite fun. Hopefully Capcom keeps making them for the Wii U and not just the 3DS….I'd love a full fledged HD Monster Hunter.

By the way Ricard, did you see you're article is the most popular article on Playeressence right now!? Over 1000 views in less than 24 hours. I knew you were a fantastic writer.

    • RicardJulianti says:

Yeah, I've been watching the number of views rise all day. Not bad considering I wrote it in about 2-3 hours and have no professional training. I'm just a guy, haha.

Hopefully my next article is as well received, I don't even have a clue what to write about next. I'm a bit tapped out at the moment. I won't worry about it too much though, stuff will come up and I did JUST write something.

And yes, you should get Monster Hunter. I'm not entirely sure how the online portion works since the solo mode requires you to do a lot of preparation for battle.

      • Furious Francis says:

Yeah dude, take a break. I don't want you getting writers block. I get it all the time. But you're a far better writer than I am! Take your time, and when you think of something email me it.

I posted the article on MyNintendoNews and N4G. Some guys on N4G swear by you and felt you brought excellent points up, and of course there were the typical trolls.

Either way, take your time with the next article. And when something inspires you, that's when you;ll know you need to write another one.

        • RicardJulianti says:

For sure. I think I am mostly just anxious because this one has performed so well.

I saw someone else discover it on the vgchartz forums…that place is usually troll central, but other than a few people (even a moderator trying to discredit my point about publishers/developers supporting the system) they have been pretty responsive to it.

The detractors are basically saying that it will only survive as long as the PS3/360 get ports…..which ignores the entire point of the article. I don't even say that the Wii U will get every game under the sun, because that's not going to happen….it is just going to get more than people might think and the visual difference won't be nearly as bad as PS3/360 vs Wii was.

Isn't it interesting to see that you can pretty much offend as many people talking good about the Wii U, as you can bad?

            Pretty crazy stuff.

          • Furious Francis says:

Yeah, people don't want the Wii U to do well. Some people just have a distaste for Nintendo for some odd reason. I like games more than systems. I'm a Nintendo fan, but I was hooked on my Xbox 360 when I was in college. So many good RPGs came out for the system. Star Ocean, Lost Odyssey, Mass Effect, Tales of Vesperia, Eternal Sonata. Blue Dragon. the 360 was my system of choice.

However MS stopped courting Japanese developers and I dropped the 360 as soon as it didn't have the game I wanted.

I need to get Monster Hunter so we can play Ricard!

    Things just got crazier lol!
