New Super Mario Bros U is getting it’s grand HD launch this Sunday in the US. Check out this new footage of the game plus a confirmation of DLC

- dev started by using materials from New Super Mario Bros. Wii to make the course
- dev started before Wii U dev equipment existed
- a friend can jump in and help you play
- challenge mode was made so that even Mario Club members found it challenging
- the testers in the states actually thought the challenges couldn’t be cleared
- they thought there was a bug in the development
- they reached out to Japan and Japan sent them videos of the challenges being finished
- a developer was using boost block mode on his own by tapping the GamePad with his index finger while playing normally with the Wiimote
- that programmer got all the Boost Mode challenge gold medals all by himself
- you can read Miiverse comments on the Wii U GamePad
- DLC confirmed, work only started once the game is complete
