Team Ninja has detailed the upcoming Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus features, game modes, and new content. Full details below, along with a trailer. 

Ninja Race will be one of the new modes for this game. The objective is for players to race through “dynamic courses to beat the clock” Players will choose a character, level, and costume, then rush through the course and kill as many enemies as possible. The more kills you get the more points and time boosts you’ll earn. The mode has a new Combo Kill counter the increases the amount of damage done based on the counter. Stringing long combos together will cause massive damage.

“Three special essences, exclusive to the Ninja Race mode, boost the player’s chance of a successful mission: Green Essence adds time to the clock, White Essence boosts the Combo Kill counter for added damage, and Purple Essence grants Ninja Speed,” reads the official description.

Tag Missions will allow players to switch team members in real time to complete challenges and tackle high scores. An AI will control one member of the team, and each fighter will have their unique strengths and weaknesses.

For weaponry, the Emma’s Fang is a “massive sword that can decimate foes with slow but powerful swings.” The more enemies you kill, the stronger the blade becomes.

If your pre-order the game, you can receive some limited edition dlc that includes costumes for Ayane, Rachel, and Momiji. The game is out February 26th in the US and March 1st in the UK. Check out the PS Blog for more details. Watch the Overview trailer below.
