EA’s Peter Moore, best known for leading the EA Sports brand and lifting up fake tattoos of Halo release dates, is the leading candidate to replace John Riccitiello.
Peter Moore is the obvious decision to replace Riccitiello. Many people across the internet have pinpointed Moore as the successor to Riccitiello. If Moore does replace Riccitiello, it will be interesting to see how he does business with Nintendo. EA and Nintendo had a very public breaking up, after Nintendo’s E3 2011 press conference, where Riccitiello came out on stage and pledged support for the Wii U.
I think that public falling out hurt EA’s image to a lot of Nintendo fans who own multiple consoles. When Nintendo decided not to use Origin as their main store front, it was Riccitiello’s decision to pull all meaningful support for the system. Moore needs to learn from his predecessors mistakes. Many Nintendo fans have multiple consoles. I have spoken to hundreds of Nintendo fans who refuse to buy EA games on any console because of EA’s greedy ploy to get Nintendo to use Origin as their main store front.
I’m hoping Peter Moore is up to the task, because gamer’s don’t want to hate EA, EA just makes it very easy to do so with their policies.
