Electronic Arts' John Riccitiello has handed in his letter of resignation and will be stepping down from his position as chief executive officer on 31st March 2013 after being in charge of the company for six years.

Maybe MS will have a job for him

Signed up just so I could leave this comment, haha.

Not only has EA actively sabotaged ME3 with the trilogy and 0 DLC support, they are doing just the same to NFS. Not only are they charging $60 for it (probably claiming that the DLC included makes it worth the cost), but they are releasing it a day after Lego City, and the same exact day as Monster Hunter. They seem to be trying to ensure low sales by going up against games that you can't get on the other 2 consoles. They'll probably be quick to release sales numbers for it saying "See? 3rd parties don't sell on Nintendo systems!"

Of course "gaming journalism" will latch onto it and continue to bash the big N. Back when Minecraft was originally said to not be coming to Wii U, media was all over it….but just this last week the same guy recanted his statement saying that it was pretty much just as likely as any other system. Did those sites update the statement? Of course not.

The good thing is, at the end of the January Wii U Direct, Iwata said that he was eager to share what 3rd parties are working on. He wouldn't just say that for games we already knew about (LCU/MH3U) so Nintendo definitely has some 3rd party tricks up its sleeves (as always.)

I apologize for the long comment, I enjoy the vid….just wish more people would look at the facts as you do. I could get into a whole thing about the Wii U specs even…but I'll save that for defense purposes. I am constantly having to drop logic bombs on people in forums and they can only comeback with strawman arguments and troll comments.

One question though, according to your sources the whole….EA/Origin/Nintendo thing is basically as confirmed as we are going to hear…yeah? Obviously we will never hear definitively on the subject, but if you have sources that say it happened, that's enough for me. I mean, I already believe it but a bit more confirmation than the original Reddit post would be nice. There is just no reason EA would go from saying that they love the system and call it "the first next-gen platform to be released" last June, to saying it isn't next-gen and actively pulling support/sabotaging their games unless SOMETHING happened. It's not like they wouldn't have had PS4/720 dev kits back then either….

Again, sorry for the novel….I can be a bit long winded at times.

No no, Ricard, I love when user leave long comments just like this. It was well thought out and welcomed. I agree with all your points. EA is lame, one of my sources even said EA is \”looked down upon\” by their peers. Please, leave more comments just like this. Your opinion is welcome. Thanks for watching and feel free to leave comments like this on each of our episode. New Playeressence X Nintendo episodes air every Thursday.

EA seems pretty derided on all fronts, especially after the SimCity debacle. I'm sure other 3rd parties are ecstatic Nintendo didn't make that deal seeing as it would give EA control over the netcode for things like CoD. Hopefully more people see this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZR6-u8OIJTE EA shouldn't be allowed to get away with things like this.

I only recently discovered PlayerEssence by way of your article on how Sony and MS are closer to going 3rd party than Nintendo,. Hopefully that article is just the start of a trend of posts that catch on due to the facts presented.

I'll be sure to check out new videos as they come up and leave comments if I have something to comment on
