I don't know why some people have such a hard time believing EA would hold a grudge against Nintendo. We know they were all about the Wii U when they thought there was a chance to have their Origin service as Nintendo's online store. Nintendo refused, and now EA barely supports the Wii U at all. It's very similar to what they did with SEGA. EA wanted to be the only company to be allowed to make sports games for the Dreamcast for 5 years, SEGA refused and EA pulled all support for the Dreamcast and refused to release anything on the system. SEGA just made their own sports games, which were arguably better anyway. Being as arrogant as they are I'd say they think they are responsible for sinking SEGA (sadly, I'd say SEGA was responsible for that themselves). They probably think they can destroy Nintendo now, or at least have Nintendo come crawling on their knees begging for mercy.

I agree 100% with literally every word you said. EA thinks they killed Sega, feels like they could do it to Nintendo or at least get them to say "Okay, okay……here. Just help us out." Thing is…..that would never happen. Yamauchi is still a shareholder and he is one tough sonovabitch. His cold business tactics saved the gaming industry….even if 3rd parties jumped ship as soon as a different option was available.

He would probably take back the CEO job by force before he let Nintendo beg for anything. He used to cancel games in one sentence if there was one thing he saw that he didn't like…..regardless of development progress. Stone cold.

Nintendo definitely has the money to live without EA's support, especially since their games are taking a downturn in sales. Dead Space and Crysis have sold just over a million apiece. Considering the hype and probably large budgets for those games, that is SAD. If a major publisher is going to go down, it will be EA next…..Sony really needs to start turning a profit without selling their assets or they will be in SERIOUS trouble….if they aren't already.

I know what you're talking about in terms of the YouTube trolls. I came across this one channel (not even going to mention it's name), the user had uploaded 19 videos total, 16 of them were bashing Wii U and Nintendo fans. It's pathetic how desperate some of these people are.

    • Furious Francis

Yeah it's a complete waste of time, and it ensures they will probably will never get a job in the industry.

      • wooferz

I've noticed the Nintendo haters haven't been talking about the 3DS much lately. Strange, because when it was doing poorly the would bash it non-stop. Now that it's successful they've completely forgotten about it and moved on to making doomsday prophecies about the Wii U. I wonder what they will go after next once the Wii U starts getting great games and selling well.

      • wooferz

Actually I think it might help them get a job in the industry. Just look at idiots like Pachter, Adam Sessler, and Geoff Keighley for example.

        • Furious Francis

There is a difference between Black Bond and RXL, compared to Pachter and such. But I see what your saying. And I think your being slightly sarcastic.

But yes, did you see the article I posted about the Wii U getting a sales increase in the UK due to Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and a price cut. It raised the sales by 125%. You can bet that Nintendo will have big software for this fall that will raise the hardware even more.

So….Epic is now on my shit-list. Unreal Engine 4 is incredibly scalable and will be on phones and tablets, yet they aren't going to give support to Wii U on it. The excuse given is complete bullshit as well. He starts to say something like "We aren't going to support it because the games won't sell and because we like to wear money hats." and instead he goes on this ridiculous PR spin that basically amounts to "If you want your UE4 game to be on Wii U (because the install base will be plenty large by the time those games come out), you have to spend extra money on a separate UE3 dev team and increase your development costs. Want a Wii U game to use UE? Use UE3 because fuck you."

It's so aggravating, I apologize for my language, haha.
