PlayStation Plus Subscription Hike set for Europe in September

playstation-plus1

This is what happens when you are completely getting bodied in one region (lol). Sony is set to increase the price of PlayStation Plus in Europe this September. Sony released a statement on the price hike.

“We are dedicated to bringing PlayStation Plus members the best possible service with the most compelling content. From 1st September 2015 we will be increasing the price of monthly and three month PlayStation Plus subscriptions in line with market conditions. We will continue to invest in PS Plus to ensure an unparalleled experience, featuring the best quality games and features.”

Yo MS, Nintendo….stop getting bodied in Europe please (lol).

    That’s just greedy.

Microsoft have been putting in the work and nintendo just cruising by,Sony is just being wicked to their customers but Europeans deserve it. PS4 is still going to be the best selling platform in that region, Sony probably put put something in their water.

It’s Sony. They make themselves look better than everyone else and then fuck everyone worse when their guard is down.

  • Kidking17

Well that sucks. This is not cool

  • Wegotexclusives

So the time where the top selling console gave advantages to their owners is long gone? The industry is dire need of a reboot.

Oh, boy. Sony must be hurtin’ for money.

  • Wegotexclusives

Xbone ain’t looking that bad now there isn’t? XD

Okay that is just being a dick. Utter console dominance in Europe does not mean price hikes are suddenly okay…

We all know in Sony’s eyes it means its OK. SOME European gamers have begun sheep and buy the PS4 just because everyone else is….DESPITE many of them LOVING HALO, Gears, and multiple Xbox exclusive franchises last gen.

      • awang0718

I wonder if Sony is hiking up the price in the U.K., which is the only European country where the Xbox One isn’t getting utterly bodied by the PS4…?

        • Wegotexclusives

UK is not a separate market Europe= UK

          • awang0718

Ok then. So PS4 gamers still got screwed even in the one market where PS4 isn’t bodying everything…lol…

          • Wegotexclusives

Yea. If thats being kn a winning team then im happy to be on the losing one.

This is why we should be pushing for Nintendo to get their shit together. The only reason why Sony are able to get away with this is because the other two competitors aren’t stepping up.

Here’s the problem I have with most people doing this. Most confuse ridiculing and insulting for helping. If you really want to help Nintendo be calm and collected and don’t shout “Oh Nintendo you’re such a fuck up!” because that’s not helping.

“This is why we should be pushing for Nintendo to get their shit together.”

No. Don’t worry yourself about Nintendo; thanks to the yen that they’ve earned from their hardware, software and their amiibo sales, i’m sure that they’re humbled enough ‘not’ to do what Sony is doing right now in Europe. Not even Iwata himself wouldn’t stoop so low to do such a thing if he we’re alive today.

TBH Both Nintendo and Microsoft consoles have historically struggled in Europe. Wii sold more in the European regions than all the other Nintendo consoles combined, and the only reason why Xbox 360 did OK in Europe is because it sold over 9 million units in the U.K. alone (making it the 2nd best selling console ever in that region, behind the PS2), with weak sales in mainland Europe. Now that Wii U is essentially selling like the Dreamcast and the Kinect is no longer popular to boost Xbox One sales, PlayStation returns to dominating that market.

In other words, in (mainland) Europe, only Sony consoles and Nintendo handhelds sell well. 7th generation is the exception.

True, us Europeans remember the PS2 in Europe. I’d not be surprised if many Europeans didn’t even know what a GameCube and Xbox was, at the time.

      • Leftoverlunch

No no it’s not it’s because a fool and his money are soon parted. People have shown how retarded they are and how happy to pay for stuff that should be free for the last 8 or so years. Maybe if people didn’t keep paying out the ass for shit like this then it would be free as standard and pay for a optional premium service if they want to.

Playstation Plus was a good idea, but it’s not that well executed. Sure the discounts are cool but the fact that you need it to play online multiplayer is stupid beyond belief.

    • person

I think people are pretty unanimous that for online multiplayer to be any good, it needs to be paid for. But, yeah, there’s a limit as to how much is a reasonable price. At least the yearly charge remains the same, I guess…

      • KnightWonder

I just seems so stupid. You don’t see Nintendo doing that with Splatoon or Smash and if they had people would be calling for their heads.
