Project Cars on Wii U will run at 720p in 30 FPS for a “Truly next-gen Experience”

Project Cars is shaping up to be one of the best looking games on Wii U. The developers of the game, Slightly Mad Studios, is very high on the graphics for the Wii U version.

In an interview with NowGamer, studio creative director Andy Tudor said,

“We always prefer to aim for 30fps generally in order to keep gameplay-specific features like having more cars on track or better weather effects.

“So that’s standard across all consoles, and we’re more likely to utilize the native 720p support of the Wii U for launch especially since our physics and rendering systems demand a lot of processing power in order to deliver a truly next-gen experience.

“All you need to know is that when you get the game, it’ll look and feel amazing and you’ll want to show it off to your friends.”

The game does looks pretty cool, but racing games are not my expertise. I’ll have to try it out myself when the game launches.

Most wiiu games with photo realism will be 720p native,30fps locked, other games like COD titles in the future will be 720p/60fps,as long as the refresh rate is raised you will still get the smoothness of 60fps anyway, team ninja did it with DOA 3DS.

I'm glad Project CARS is locked at 30fps as most 60fps racers always drop to around 38fps when it gets intense, with Project CARS wiiu it will be a locked frame rate, and 720p native with proper nextgen graphics sounds great to me.

The Game looks great & it's nice to see Devs Actually putting effort in the Wii U Version.
However, Trolls are using this as Poorly aquired ammunition against Nintendo. . . . .Shocking, I know.
They don't know that Most 8th gen games on Consoles Most likely will go for Native 720 Locked @30FPS.
The Reason is simple, It'll allow Developers to Easily make Larger levels, have lots of Players & Vehicles on screen at one time, better effects, and more Varied gameplay on Consoles Without spending too much time & Money on 1080p@60FPS Graphics which aren't that Practical or Necessary on the 8th Gen's Consoles.
There are people who actually believe that All games on the PS4 will run at 1080p @60FPS… Won't they be Very Dissappointed! XD

Yeah, I don\’t see the problem. The Killzone demo was in 1080p 30 FPS, so only the resolution changed. Most PS4 and Xbox 720 games will be in 1080p and 30 FPS.

But man, U can't imagine the amount of trollin there is on other news sites about this article just because it say 720p & 30FPS.
They don't understand that by keeping the Resolution at 720p and Locking the Frame Rate to 30, Developers will be able to easily make Larger levels, lots of players & vehicles, better effects, & more varied Gameplay Mechanics on consoles. This article helps prove my point:

I see some potential of Project CARS at first. Now that Criterion Games have stepped their game up in Need for Speed: Most Wanted U, both racing titles for the Wii U are definite must buys… not just the incredible graphics, but the unique gameplay and overall fun factor.

    • Furious Francis says:

Yeah I'm interested to see how the game plays out. I don't want to give EA my money though. I'll get project cars on sale.

      • Amigaengine says:

Oh man I dont wont EA to have my cash but wont punish Criterion for actually taking the time to put extra work with the WiiU.

Wonder if this game will have Online racing ?
