The PS4 is powerful….. I mean really powerful, for a console that is. The system has 8GB of Ram and much more. Details below. 

Lead designer of the PS4, Mike Cerny, said the PS4 has 8 GB of RAM, which allows the console to do all sorts of cool stuff. The PS4 can complete background functions and downloads without interruption gameplay. The console can go into a sleep state, where the power is completely off, but start right back were you left off of thanks to the RAM. The Extra RAM allows for greater dynamic effects as well. Cerny played around with a bunch of balls in the Unreal Engine Tech Demo. The PS4 has almost 2 teraflops of computational performance and runs off a high end PC GPU.
