Rare’s George Andreas leaves Microsoft for Sony

Veteran of the gaming industry George Andreas has left Microsoft for Rare. His new role of creative director at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has begun. Andreas was a stable of Rare for years working on games like Killer Instinct Gold, Donkey Kong 64, GoldenEye, Viva Pinata, and Banjo Kazooie.

I loved Rare growing up. That gold emblem meant a lot to me as a kid and teenager. Of course this was all before Microsoft bought them out and turned them in the Kinect Sport factory they are now. Rare is a mere shell of their former self. I can see why Andreas finally decided it was time to go. I want to wish him good luck, along with the guys over at Flippin Pixels, who are composed of former Microsoft Rare employees.
