Star Wars 1313: Trailer Afterthoughts

Trailer Afterthoughts: Star Wars 1313

No Jedi’s in a Star Wars game is a nice change of pace from the terrible Force Unleashed games. The shooting combat style and some of the gameplay seen in the E3 demo makes it look like Mass Effect, but just set in the Star Wars plot. This game is said to take place in the middle of the first trilogy of the Star Wars movies and the second trilogy. This is a third person action-adventure game and looks awesome having a mature theme.  The Developers describe 1313 as mature dark atmosphere and gritty style without being extremely bloody.

Borrowing gameplay elements from Mass Effect is a good decision considering the popularity of cover based 3rd person shooters. In the beginning of the gameplay demo, the main character says that “Fresh air is overrated” Those types of phrases point to the darker theme 1313 has. The scene where the ship is breaking apart and he jumps makes it look like Uncharted. Uncharted is known for its faster paced combat and cinematic movie style jumps.

With 1313′s visual and gameplay style it should be the best-selling and most successful Star Wars Game ever. The Force Unleashed series was terrible, and 1313 looks to make amends where SWTFU failed.

Upgrades and character progress are a few things I hope 1313 has. I look forward to playing this Star Wars game because it is comparable to Mass Effect, and I would like to learn a bit more of the story and main character. Although I little to no knowledge of the Star Wars story 1313 looks so impressive I will research it before I play the game. 1313 currently has no released date and I would not be surprised if it was a launch title for the next Xbox and Playstation 4.

What are your thoughts on Star Wars 1313?
