StarCraft 2 – Global Play is “in the coming months”
Global Play is coming to StarCraft 2 in the next patch which should be coming “in the coming months” according to Blizzard.
StarCraft 2 Global Play will enable access to StarCraft 2′s game servers in multiple regions. This helps other regions get in on tournaments and eSports, and ““maps and games that aren’t yet published everywhere.”
Each region will contain its own separate profile data, so “characters, profiles, ladder rankings, progress, and friends lists” will not carry over from region to region.
Here’s more about Global Play via Battle.net:
- Players will be able to freely switch between regions via the StarCraft II login screen.
- When your region’s game servers are undergoing maintenance, you may be able to play in a different region that is not down for maintenance.
- Your game language and user interface will not change when you change regions.
- Players using Global Play will be subject to the in-game policies of their selected play region.
More details are promised “soon,” including an FAQ.
