Valve Steambox System Debuts Today

Valve is gearing up to show their PC built for the living in the form of a console most people are dubbing the Steambox. With Big Picture mode and Xi3 will Valve take over the living room from MS, Sony, and Nintendo? full details below.

Xi3 is building the hardware but is financially back by Valve. Its not quite ready for launch but Xi3 is calling its prototype hardware for CES 2013 in the “developmental stage”. Check out some of the pics of the Chassis.below.

There is no official name or price of course but Xi3 did talk about having LAN parties with the device and steaming video games.

“This new development stage product will allow users to take full-advantage of their large high-definition TV displays for an amazing computer game experience. As a result, this new system could provide access to thousands of gaming titles through an integrated system that exceeds the capabilities of leading game consoles, but can fit in the palm of your hand,” Xi3 CEO Jason A. Sullivan said.
