Future Sonic Games Will be Inspired by the Classic 2D Games
Sonic’s latest console offerings have not been up to the quality players experienced in the 16-bit era. Sega has publicly apologized, and will be looking at the classic titles to inspire new Sonic games.
Coming from SEGA Europe Marketing Director Jon Rooke:…
“Sega has publicly apologised to the fans as the quality of console games in the Sonic franchise hasn’t been acceptable over recent years. It’s been tough translating that iconic side scrolling 2D experience from the 90s into 3D but Sonic is still huge for us so the new games will be more inspired by how it played in its heyday.”

Sony: High Performance PS4 SKU is Possible With x86
Sony has revealed that they are considering various options to enhance the PS4’s existing hardware, including a “high performance” SKU that could give the PS4 a boost in graphics and/or processing power.
Coming from DualShockers:
“With the PS3 architecture and the Cell, it was impossible to expand the machine beyond the capacity of the hard disk. On the other hand, with the PS4 adopting a conventional X86 architecture, it’s easy to achieve flexible performance enhancements while using the same game assets.
That’s why providing a standard performance version of the PS4 and a high performance version of the console side-by-side is, according to Ito-san, an idea that might be considered.”
Remember, this is not confirmed nor is anything set in motion at the moment. This was all hypothetical.

NBA LIVE 16 Gets Bodied by NBA 2K16 by Nearly 1 Million Units
For some reason, EA has continued to develop NBA Live games. Well, after seeing how bad NBA Live 16 sold compared to NBA 2K16, EA might want to call it quits. According to PS4 daily via leaked NPD numbers for September. NBA Live 16 only sold 8,300 copies compared to NBA 2K16’s 1 million. EA tried to get an exclusive license to make NBA games similar to how they did with the NFL and Madden. Luckily for all the gamers out their the NBA intelligently declined.
There was even a number of years were EA didn’t even have a basketball game before rebooting the franchise in 2014…. which was a horrible game. NBA Live 15 and 16 aren’t much better either. EA…. make a better game if you want to be competitive against 2K in basketball.
Ubisoft CEO Plans to Fight to Stay Independent from Vivendi
Vivendi damn near crashed Activision before CEO Bobby Kotick bailed the company out with his own money. Now it seems Vivendi is looking to take control of Ubisoft, as they have purchased more than 6% of the firm’s stocks. Fearing a takeover, Ubisoft CEO, Yves Guillemot, has vowed to employees he will fight to stay independent.
“Our intention is and has always been to remain independent, a value which, for 30 years, has allowed us to innovate, take risks, create beloved franchises for players around the world, and which has helped the company grow into the leader it is today,” Guillemot said in the e-mail.
“We’re going to fight to preserve our independence. We should not let this situation - nor any future actions by Vivendi or others - distract us from our goals. Our best defence is to stay focused on what we have always done best - deliver the most original and memorable gaming experiences.”

Activision has announced that Tony Hawk’so Pro Skater 5 has been delayed on PS3 and Xbox 360. The delay was so the developers can focus on fixing the glitchy PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game.
“We are working closely with our developers to address the issues identified by our community,” said Activision in a statement to Eurogamer. “Our development resources are fully focused on fixes and content updates for PS4 and Xbox One, so we have decided to delay the release of THPS5 on PS3 and X360. Call of Duty Black Ops III on PS3 and Xbox 360 Runs at 30fps
Bruh, I had to adjust my glasses anime style when I saw this headline. Apparently, the PS3 and Xbox 360 version of Call of Duty Black Ops III will run at 30fps. All of the previous COD games on PS3 and Xbox 360 aimed, and often hit 60fps.
Beenox’s creative director, Thomas Wilson, explained the reasoning behind today’s news.
“I’d say that we tried to hit that target [60fps],” Wilson told Develop. “It becomes harder when you’re working on current gen platforms. We’re basically looking more at something like 30fps. But still, the experience is very enjoyable, otherwise it’s not Call of Duty.”
