Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo Team up Against DDoS Attacks
Microsoft is currently talking with Sony and Nintendo to strategize how to stop DDoS attacks. These attacks hit XBL and PSN on Christmas Day last year, and with software now available to conduct these attacks yourself, the big three are working together to stop them. Xbox lead Phil Spencer said:
“I don’t think it’s great when PSN goes down. It doesn’t help me. All it does is put the fear and distrust from any gamer that’s out there, so I look at all of us together as this is our collective opportunity to share what we can about what we’re learning and how things are growing. Those conversations happen, which I think is great.”

Phil Harrison Leaves Microsoft, Report States he Was Upset Spencer got Promoted Instead of him
Microsoft’s Euro boss Phil Harrison is leaving the company, according to GamesIndustry Biz. The rumor is Phil Harrison is upset that Phil Spencer got promoted to the Xbox lead when Don Mattrick left. This is not confirmed by any means, but doesn’t seem out of the realm of possibility.

Final Fantasy Creator Hironobu Sakaguchi Admits to Hating Direct Sequels
Blue Dragon, Final Fantasy and The Last Story creator Hironobu Sakaguchi has admitted he hates sequels in a new interview with IGN. Sakaguchi went on to say:
“I don’t like sequels. I hate them. That’s why every single Final Fantasy had a new cast of characters, a brand new story, [and] a different system. Our promise to ourselves is that for every single game that we make, we are going to give it our all, and then we finish it, we’ll end it in such a way that there is no to be continued checklist.”
The only time I can recall Sakaguchi making a follow up to a game is Blue Dragon. There was an Xbox 360 game then a DS game a couple years later.
