Oh SMS, first the nVidia Gameworks bullshit and now lying about the Wii U version developement.

You just can’t stop fucking up, huh?

    • Jewelwriter Moonstar

Clearly…they need a cleanup in their group.

  • BigDog Elite

I personally don’t care about reject cars. But they should have not taken Wii U owners money if they never had any attention putting the game on the system in the first place. I hope Wii U owners can get their money refunded if it has not already happen. As for believing all the BS turd parties like to spit out, yea no thanks they can go shove their lame excuses up their narrow behinds. They always talking about how games can not run on the Wii U, but can barely run correctly on the PS4 and the Xbox One. While still putting current gen games on last gen consoles. We all know if they really wanted to, they would had put this game on mobile. In fact I’m surprise they did not put the game on mobile already. So we should really believe turd parties, OKAY THEN 30 frames is cinematic, and the future of gaming is on mobile.

@getagrip:disqus please stop spamming the comments section so much. We got the message after the first couple of posts.

    • Prütsa

      well, he’s not wrong.

      • Titangamecube

But it is kinda annoying even it if it is right.

        • alex9234

It’s still funny as hell LOL.

          • Titangamecube

okay…its funny XD. Anyway, im a respond to your post about metroid.

  • ShadowHero43

I find it stupidly funny that nintendo fans funded it, soo basically it should’ve been done with wiiu specs. But noooo, they had to delay it to get attention, make it for other consoles where casuals are at and then cancel the version that gave birth to this.

Stay classy namco bandai and whatever indie dev team

Since the interest in the Wii U version of Project Cars is at an all time high, and the developers at Slightly Mad Studios have been so secretive of what the Wii U version will go graphically, besides saying it will “hold it’s own”, I have done some digging to find out exactly what kind of graphical look we can expect from this version.

These Wii U GPU features I am posting are known by some and have been posted little by little as development has continued on the game, but out of respect for the Beta/Alpha testers that posted these I won’t be posting a link on this site. If you really need to know the direct place I got these from, send an email request to my address. However take my word for it, these are definitely correct and are not hard to believe when you consider that the Wii U version was developed first alongside the PC version.

Project Cars Wii U Graphical Features (some CPU as well):

    - Multi-threaded shadow rendering. DX11 support for mult-threaded shadow rendering (via -DX11MT)

    - DX11 Light

Multi-threaded shadow rendering. DX11 support for mult-threaded shadow rendering (via -DX11MT)

    - DX11 Lighting and Fog values are rendered per thread

    - 11.11.10 HDR format support & 32bit HDR.

    - DX11 Support for per MRT pixel formats

    - DX11 Lighting and Fog values are rendered per thread

    - Small deferred rendertargets are stored in EDRAM

    - CTexture class implemented (GTX texture loading, texture locking, Color/DepthBuffer GX2 structures etc)

    - Full Tonemapping with Colour Cube correction and Bloom

    - Full Motion-blur / Post processing filters

    - Full Depth of Field.

    - Support for Raw Vertex/Index Buffers (accelerates particle rendering)

    - FXAA

    - SSAO

    - 720p & 30 FPS

    - Unity Engine Compiler to convert DX11 features to function on Wii U GPU

So from the looks of these features, the Wii U version will not be missing out on much in terms of graphical prowess. Nice to see some full DirectX 11 finally being used on the system as well.

Hopefully the developer will take notice and reveal the Wii U ver

  • darkgamer001

We can’t continue to blame architecture all the time when the Wii U is even missing out on frikkin’ HD ports also coming out on PS3 and 360.
Perhaps architecture compounds the problem, but it is by no means the source

    • ActivesiN

it is with project cars, the head of the company came out and said as much, they can’t reach 720p/30fps without downgrading the looks of the game

      • http://playeressence.com/ PlayerEssence

They don’t want to spend the time to get the game looking and running like that. Last year they had nothing but good things to say about the Wii U version of Project Cars and said it was looking and running great. They either lied, or don’t feel like making a Wii U version since they are already working on Project Cars 2

        • https://www.youtube.com/user/NinZend0 Zen Gamer - Logic King

They’re already working on a sequel? Is that confirmed or was that just a part of your point. This situation changes quite a bit based on the answer.

        • ActivesiN

project cars 2? , when did they announce that lol

          • http://playeressence.com/ PlayerEssence

They announced it on their forum last month of something like that. No official announcement. Just like a, hey we’re working on another Project Cars game now.

        • ActivesiN

if they are having issues getting it to run well on Wii U Nintendo could always go and help them out

          • http://playeressence.com/ PlayerEssence

I don’t think they want to do that either. They lied about the Wii U version over and over last year. Now they are making excuses when they don’t feel like making it. Its not a big deal to me, I just don’t like the lies.

      • Saleem Rasul Abdul Aziz

He also said they only found out that their optimizations weren’t working LAST FREAKING WEEK!!!

That should tell you that next to no work was done on it between their crowd sourcing campaign and release of the PSBone versions. Architecture problems are’nt something you discover over night, instead they are the first thing to appear.

Apparently he can say anything he wants and you would believe it as the gospel truth. Thats just sad man.

AFTER 12 MONTHS AGO SAYING THE COMPLEAT OPERSITE

IT WAS DUMPED BY NAMCO A LONG TIME AGO get real

i told you all 12 months ago IT DOESNT EXIST

    • https://www.youtube.com/user/NinZend0 Zen Gamer - Logic King

Definitely, but it goes both ways, I think. Just as we shouldn’t blame architectural differences every single time when it comes to Wii U’s port woes, we also shouldn’t accept it in every situation (such as you’ve mentioned).

It’s subjective and each situation requires thought and investigation before rage and malcontent. It’s all about context. In this situation, outside of their initial lies, I think they’ve finally decided to be truthful and that has to be worth something.

They’re unable to realize their visual goals on the Wii U and the answer might be as simple as they themselves have stated: Lower the visuals, cap at a lower frame rate and release the game. But, if you were an artist, would you be able to sacrifice the quality of your art if confronted with limited resources to make it a reality?

      • Saleem Rasul Abdul Aziz

In my case I’m not mad about the game being canceled, if it was not profitable to continue then it makes sense to cut your losses. What upsets me is that it is obvious that they were only trying to port over the PSBone version to the Wii U instead of building the game from the ground up. It’s like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.

Had they been working on it concurrently then these issues could have been picked up on earlier and they could have done the right thing by refunding the Wii U platform backers earlier. Instead they were spewing BS about it looking and running great.

Business is business but SMS was mighty shady with theirs and IMHO they deserve all the hate coming their way. Again no one would be mad if thy were honest about it but instead they were dicks about it.

A single moment of honesty does not redeem a lifetime of lies! In this case the lifetime of the Wii U versions dev cycle.

        • https://www.youtube.com/user/NinZend0 Zen Gamer - Logic King

Yeah, I get what you’re saying. But it’s never too late to start telling the truth. For example, they could’ve simply left us in the dark and let us slowly come to the conclusion that all is not well behind the scenes.

Their telling the truth now in no way absolves them of what’s been done in the past, but it’s a start. That being said, their next moves will determine the overall outcome of their story I believe.

          • Saleem Rasul Abdul Aziz

True it’s never too late to start but the problem is not limited to SMS. Rather it exists across the entire crowd sourcing platform with a ton of broken promises. It seems to me that young entrepreneurs these days over promise and under deliver.

          • https://www.youtube.com/user/NinZend0 Zen Gamer - Logic King

Yes, an unfortunate truth of that funding platform. I think the rules need to be adjusted ensuring more security and fairness toward consumers.

It’s easy to over-promise especially when you’re entirely unsure that anyone will even take an interest in whatever it is that you’re doing. So, you gloss it up and say things that you know you may never be able to deliver upon. It’s unfortunate, but it is what it is.

          • Saleem Rasul Abdul Aziz

Off topic, its great to see another commentary coming from you. I’ve always enjoyed these more than the hangouts that you have been doing lately. Also digging the beard!

          • https://www.youtube.com/user/NinZend0 Zen Gamer - Logic King

Yeah, going to try to do more of those on this new channel. And as far as the beard goes it’s just a side-effect of my laziness/schedule. Lol!

      • getagrip

        if that really happened

they didnt BY CHANCE all of a sudden find this out after releasing the others ITS A LIE THE WIIU VERSION WAS DUMPED BY THE POWER IN CHARGE

        N-A-M-C-O

    • Titangamecube

Its never an architecture or a power issue. Anyone who says that doesn’t know what they’re talking about because if that was the case, why did the Sega Saturn, and every Playstation up until four got the third party support. Believe it or not but Nintendo’s systems never had alien architecture nor power constraints. Its just third parties making excuses as usual and we cannot give the benefit of doubt anymore.

      • Liquid-Sunrise

Unfortunately, that is always the case from the 3rd parties….

  • Exposer

Let me guess he said that its Nintendo’s fault for using and underpowered system?

    • Prütsa

      Probably.

    • Blake Wigert

When in doubt, use the power arguement

  • ActivesiN

it is unfortunate that Project cars is being held back by the hardware limitations of the Wii U

    • Jet Hammer

So pc’s with Amd have hardware limitations too? lelkek.

      • ActivesiN

difference is if you are limited on pc you can change the video card, Wii U does not have the luxury

        • Titangamecube

Sure, let me go buy a 300 dollar video card for a developer who can’t program shit.

          • ActivesiN

or you can buy a xbox one which doesn’t seem to have issues getting games to come to it

          • Titangamecube

Uh no. Until there is a game that isn’t your typical grey and brown shooter, I wont be buying one until then.

          • ActivesiN

sunset overdrive not colorful enough for you?

          • Titangamecube

Bland as all hell which I was disappointed in.

          • ActivesiN

what about scalebound, that will be a good one made by Platinum games

          • Titangamecube

Don’t have enough information to make a judgement.

            Thats fine.

          • https://www.youtube.com/user/NinZend0 Zen Gamer - Logic King

            I’ll just leave this here:

Games on the Xbox One that are not “Typical Grey & Brown Shooters”:

            Sunset Overdrive
            Scalebound
            Max: The Curse of Brotherhood
            Crimson Dragon
            D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die
            Happy Wars
            Killer Instinct

          • Titangamecube

Lets see: I said Sunset overdrive was unfortunately bland, Scalebound we only have screen shots of, Max: The Curse of Brotherhood was okay, Crimson Dragon was medicorce, D4 is an episodic game…forget that. Happy Wars was alright, and I find Killer Instinct to be bland as well.

          • 7thlevel JR

project cars looks like any other racing sim

          • Guidosaur

Ori and the Blind Forest looks super good as well. And hella pretty too

    • Saleem Rasul Abdul Aziz

Ironic that you should pose such an illogical comment on a video made by the king of logic. Indeed a game that was barely in development and still incomplete was holding back a game that was released several weeks ago.

      • Titangamecube

Its honestly getting tiring with third parties and its just annoying that people are defending laziness.

    • getagrip

so they developed it release the other versions then at the last minute found out it was wiius fault

and pigs fly THE GAME DOESNT EXIST

no one would develop the game then at the end of that dvelopment announce it cannot be done

that would be like building a house in the sea and 2 years in deside the sea is at fault we cannot build it

or putting cold water in a fridge then after 2 years sayingwe cannot get the water to boil

THERE IS NO SPOON IT DIDNT EXIST NAMCO CANNED IT A LONG LONG TIME AGO WAKE UP

      • ActivesiN

I am already awake, that is why I bought an xbox one
I don’t live in a fantasy world where everything is a conspiracy with 3rd parties and NIntendo
the Wii U is too weak to run the games that 3rd parties want to make for multi plats and that is fine, I’ll enjoy it for Nintendo games and whatever exclusive 3rd party games it gets

    • NovaRegen

That’s the rub though. It isn’t about hardware when it comes to the Wii U, it’s about ideas. This developer chose the graphics battle knowing full well that Nintendo isn’t participating in a graphics arms race. The Gamepad can offer a multitude of options to make a version of Project Cars really compelling on the Wii U. But we haven’t seen even one piece of official media to illuminate us on what this game could be like the console.
So, there may have been some lofty goals to utilize the unique features of the Wii U for Project Cars but there’s no evidence of them even trying, apart from some dev talk. They could’ve lying when they said they wanted to bring a compelling experience via the Gamepad back in 2013. In all likelihood, they lied through their teeth.
Point is, any limitation to bring this core game to the system is set by the devs. I firmly believe they could’ve delivered a beautiful looking game that runs like a dream with compelling game mechanics on the Wii U. But, apart from some cheap talk, there was no will on their part to actually do the work.

  • Kidking17

    Controversial opinions, my favorite lol
