Nintendo’s impressive E3 and GamesCom showing has boosted Wii U titles to the top of Amazon’s best selling games. Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, and Hyurle Warriors round out the top three. Destiny, and Kingdom Hearts are in the top 5 as well. Get the full list of titles over on Amazon. Thanks Terminator Juice for the tip!
Pat & Ian discuss how having two non-gaming companies making game consoles is affecting the industry.
You know what? Nintendo fans are ungrateful. We complain, whine, and moan for better third-party support… then don’t buy the inferior ports given to us. Subscribe to PE Nintendo for more awesome content!
Phil Fish and Polytron has been hacked, and it looks pretty bad. Tons of personal information like bank accounts, sales data, passwords, social security numbers, and more were leaked on the internet. The Polytron website is down right now. Yeah this sucks for Phil Fish & Polytron. Via: NeoGAF, Thanks to Ricard for the tip.
One of my favorite YouTubers has a brand new video up, and it’s pretty good brother! Warning: Suggestive content…
At the author’s request, I will be posting the whole article here on PlayerEssence. However, make sure you check out Wii U Gaming Zone for a different take on Wii U news, opinion pieces, and retro gaming.
Now before you read this article there is one thing I want to make abundantly clear, this article is not any form of flame bait or an attempt to start some kind of riot. It is merely an article expressing my own opinion on the Wii U’s third-party support or lack there of, so please do not take it as anything more. But above all else, please enjoy the article as I am sure there will be points that you either agree or disagree with.
There are enemies out here you would not believe, but they’ve never seen anything like you. It doesn’t matter who you are, only what you will become.
It’s about money, and that is ok. You (Ubi) are a business, and the purpose is to be profitable. Just be honest and tell us that. Say, that because of the small install base, mature games don’t return the profits you are looking for, whereas others do – and you will be focusing on those “for the foreseeable future”. Have the respect to be honest. That is not too much to ask for.
In the latest Nintendo Rants episode, Shawn has an issue with Ubisoft’s handling of the Wii U and their CEO’s comments on the platform, along with Ubisoft as whole on other platforms. This is yet another can’t miss episode, especially for fans feeling slighted by Ubisoft’s microtransactions and general lack of respect for Nintendo platforms.
It seems like Call of Duty Advanced Warfare won’t be coming to the Wii U this year. At least from Sledgehammer Games or Treyarch. In a tweet you can see here. Michael Condrey, the co-founder of Sledgehammer Games says that there will be no Wii U version. He also states it was Activisions call, with HIS studio being focused on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions.

However, Yokai Watch 2 moved over 118,000 units to top the Zelda spin-off. It should be noted that Hyrule Warriors was only tracked for 3 days on these charts. The 3DS was the top system sold again, moving over 50,000 units for the week. The Wii U was the top home console sold, selling over 18,000 units. Get the full software and hardware charts below.
Ubisoft has some nerve to say Wii U owners are only interested in Just Dance, when ZombiU has sold more copies than all three versions of Just Dance on the Wii U…… COMBINED! Subscribe to PE Nintendo here!
Check out this crazy ad for Madden 15 featuring Kevin Hart, Colin Kapernick, Von Miller, and a bunch of celebs. Sadly for EA, this is the best thing about Madden 15.
Digital Foundry has tested the frame-rates of Diablo 3 with the recent 1080p update patch. Can it hold a constant 60fps? Find out below.
For this weeks main topic, we’ll be discussing what it means to be a gamer who owns multiple consoles(and PC) at the same time.
Got a brand new series for you guys, it’s called Let’s Talk, where I do just that. I’ll be covering a wide range of topics so look forward to new episodes every week. Subscribe to PE Nintendo for more awesome content.
Yes, that is my title, and yes I’m telling it as it is. Because I have had enough of Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot labeling Nintendo fans for idiots because they don’t buy their un-optimized, crappy ports. In an interview with Game Informer, Guillemot stated that Assassin’s Creed isn’t coming to Wii U because not enough Wii U owners are dumb enough to buy their lazy Xbox 360 ports of Assassin’s Creed to Wii U.
