Funny thing is, if you go to the infamous "Rayman" video, there's people in the comments acting like the statement they made that debunked Rayman is part of a conspiracy.

I already went there for you guys. Don't go if you value your sanity.

3 things; first, I love the video. Second, I disagree that the 3ds version is the inferior version- I would rather describe the 3ds version as the portable version and the wii u version as the home console version (inferior has a negative connotation in this regard). Third, I sincerely doubt that Rayman was ever considered and if he was, that bs Ubisoft pulled last year squashed that.

3DS coming first makes perfect sense - you don't serve the main course before the appetizer.

I'm ok with Rayman being an assist trophy now, and potentially a playable character in the future. I hear Rayman Legends on Wii U is excellent (I've had bad luck with digital sales coming at times when I can't get it), but Rayman doesn't have quite the status of Pacman or Megaman yet - although they haven't been in great original games for some time.

I'm most excited for the 3DS version. Would very much like to see it in autostereoscopic 3D!

The development of Super Smash Bros. started Summer 2012.

Sakurai started planning after Kid Icarus Uprising went Gold back in Feb. 2012.
