The people at GAF were actually right, that Final Fantasy remake is actually selling Vitas two weeks, and even more so the week post-release and post-holidays… That's weird.

…aaaand the Wii U sales begin to drop again. Hilarious. Can't wait for another year of mediocre sales!

I gotta say, I am SHOCKED. I was expecting Wii U sales to drop off more but they've held rather well and the 3D World attachment rate is great! Looks like word of the mouth is finally doing Nintendo a favor. So much for Lightining Returns though. lol

Nintendo's doing amazing this week, looks like more Wii U titles in the top 10 this time around, too, along with all the 3DS titles.
    I'm happy~

Very pleased to see Taiko no Tatsujin for the Wii U getting some legs. ^_^

Francis, I wanted to address you in the Luigi thread, but for some reason it's the only one I can't post on, so I'll just do it here. You replied to me:

"Selling over 3 million units of Luigi Mansion is not thrilling Nintendo? You're kidding right? Including Digital Luigi's Mansion sold over 3.5 million easily. Lets times that by 27 (estimate amount of how much Nintendo makes on each copy sold) That's 88,829,000 in revenue generated. And you're telling me Nintendo isn't thrilled with that? Sorry, don't buy it.

Selling over 1 million units of DLC in a box isn't thrilling to Nintendo? Do you want me to do the math for you to tell you how much each game made in revenue?

This is a spin off, not the main series. These sales are quite amazing. And its still going."

Easy there, I wasn't really disagreeing, I was just wondering out loud. Nintendo is used to massive numbers, so I just wondered if selling 1-3 million copies of Luigi is something they'd consider amazing. I mean that literally, I'm not sure, I'm not saying it isn't. And it was certainly a success. Plus, Nintendo is very long term oriented, and I suspect they were more focused on strengthening the Luigi brand so that in the future Luigi is big enough to sell those big Nintendo numbers than on how many copies they sold of Luigi games. Not that they "don't care" about the performance of those games, they very much do, but they were probably a means to an end, not the end itself, and on that note it was a clear success.

You have to remember that Nintendo's massive selling franchises did not achieve their massive numbers overnight but over a long period of time. Nintendo has plenty of small franchises as well in addition to their massive franchises. 3 million for Luigi's Mansion for all intents and purposes is a massive succes and you have to figure in that it will probably continue to sell even after 2013. I see that game to achieve 5 million in its life time sales. Regardless, profit is profit even if it does not make as much as Smash or Mario Kart.

I don't think Nintendo thinks Luigi is going to sell as much as Mario…..ever. The whole point is Luigi's Mansion has already outsold the lifetime sales of the gamecube one.

Super Luigi U was a 3 month development DLC experiment. Both made Nintendo a ton of money. I think they are quite happy with the results. They aren't trying to build Luigi into Pokemon or Smash Bros dude. They know that is not going to happen.

    Gotta Catch 'em all… Pokemon!
