Satoru Iwata’s Funeral will be held on July 17th

Satoru Iwata has sadly passed away at the young age of 55. His funeral will be held on July 17th, according to ABC News. Mr. Iwata is survived by his wife Kayoko.

“A funeral service will be held on July 17. Iwata is survived by his wife Kayoko. The company declined to disclose other details of his family.”

    I really hope they keep the funeral details quite private.. Funerals are for family and close friends. Fans, especially the really serious ones, probably do not see this is a time to mourn for close family and friends and would intrude..

    To those truly mourning Iwata-san give to a charity you think he would support!

          You know saddest thing is I feel for his family.. IMO I love what he gave in effort to Nintendo and us but I wish he stepped away from duties sooner for time with his family.

          He loved his job and will be missed. Thanks for covering this sad news Francis.

      This is one of the rare moments where I mourn for someone
      who I never met in person, but feels like I already met him… :(
