9 days is not the end of the world, but really??? I do not want the “roll out content through time rather than release it all at launch” thing to become the norm for Nintendo.

This is dumb. If these creation tools were unlocked by progressing through the sample courses, then I guess that would be more forgivable since there needs to be some kind of reward for playing through the sample courses. It’s stupid that we have to wait 9 days just so the game can be complete.

Bizarre choice, not really sure the reason…seems pretty unnecessary.

9 day wait to use creation features in a game specifically for level creation? now thats just stupid

You progressively unlock the features, so you need to learn how everything works before you can go truly crazy. To do otherwise would be like trying to do algebra before learning how to add.

Comparing a level maker that uses Mario to algebra doesnt really work though. Everyone all ready knows how items in mario work. There’s really no big learning curve to this game. Having more options to use in your levels isnt going to magically confuse the user and make them stumped.

This is just a dumb move by Nintendo that doesnt make sense

        • Wonder Dean

It makes perfect sense: they want players to understand the basics before they jump into the more complicated stuff. This could have been done through other means, but the affect would have been the same, so it’s not really a big deal.

And having less options doesn’t stifle creativity, if anything it encourages it.

So basically people need to be baby step how to place a brick block before they can have more options out of the gate? It’s fucking Mario…i mean do you have to learn the fundamentals of maths before you play a creation tool game? lol

yeah seriously. I don’t think there’s any legit way to defend this decision.

In ign this is post has been nothing but chaos from trolls saying that this is locked ingame dlc. No wonder the world is about to end.

    • Hardin Twentyfive

Wait! Please tell me you’re kidding, because these guys complaining about “locked DLC In SMM” are the same stupid people who would buy a EA game with no prejudice.
Please tell me you’re lying for my health.

      • Wegotexclusives

Im sorry but it is true.

If I wasn’t who I am religiously, I would forsake the idea of redemption.
