Media Create Sales (7/27/15 - 8/2/15) - Animal Crossing Debuts with 522K & 3DS Leads

    For comparison’s sake, Animal Crossing New Leaf launched with 603,064 copies sold in Japan. Happy Home Designer, a mere spin-off, sold just 80,508 copies less than New Lead did during their respective launches. Definitely very impressive numbers.

    As for hardware, 3DS sales went up by a sizable amount thanks to the Happy Home Designer bundles. Everything else remained flat compared to last week.

    Impressive debut for Happy Home Designer. Also, great evergreen legs for Splatoon, Rhythm Heaven and Fire Emblem. ^_^

    Wow. Those sales are INSANE! And just to give perspective, I did a little digging and found that Happy Home Designer’s debut only fell short of New Leaf’s debut by less than 100k:

    Animal Crossing is still a monster in Japan. I wonder what the amiibo and card sales are like over there.
