Sony has Responded to the #BetterPSN fan Movement

playstation_store

Sony fans have recently put together an online movement to get Sony to improve the PlayStation Network experience. With the frequent downtimes and lack of features compared to Xbox LIVE, many Sony fans feel the company is not doing enough. Especially since Sony now charges players for online play with PSN. Sony has officially responded to this campaign below:

“Feedback from our community is very important to us and helps guide our ongoing commitment toward making PlayStation the best place to play,” a Sony spokesperson said in a statement provided to GamesBeat. “We encourage users to submit ideas on ways to improve PlayStation products and services here: http://share.blog.us.playstation.com/. We appreciate the dialogue we have with our gamers and have built and improved features based directly on their input.”

Here are the #BetterPSN’s specific requests:

- Two-factor authentication for better security.

- An online-status option to make it appear you are offline or invisible even when you are playing PSN games.

- Notifications for when people come online and offline.

- The capability to send video gameplay clips to friends through PSN.

- Better organization and browsing options for downloads and library.

- Other bug fixes.

I’m all for this! Hopefully Sony makes the appropriate improvements to PSN.

Good PR? Maybe, but at least it’s not dismissive in any way.
That said, PSN is now a mandatory service. i.e. the customers should not allow mediocrity anymore. No excuses

And lets not forget Backwards comparable. I mean who does not want that?

My main request is the ability to change your name, and notifications when friends get online or offline.

I tried submitting an idea and it didn’t work. It told me my idea was too long.and that I had all the 200 characters remaining. Sony really needs this.

listening to complaints =/= fixing PSN

Sony knew they had problem since day one on PS4 but still havent fixed it

They haven’t listened to the complaints until now though. It’s a good thing however late it may be.
