Japanese Voice Actor for Solid Snake says Kojima Productions “was Forced to Disband”

It looks like this is the end of an era. The Japanese voice actor for Metal Gear Solid, sent out a heartfelt goodbye to Kojima Productions on Twitter recently:

“Kojima Productions was forced to disband, but it appears that the work that the team has been putting their utmost effort into is nearly complete,” Otsuka said in a tweet. “I’m not exaggerating when I say that I expect it will become their greatest masterpiece. I couldn’t help it. I just wanted to say ‘Kept you waiting, huh?’ (Laughs.) But even if this is the end, Metal Gear Solid is immortal!”

You have to wonder with all this turmoil that would crush morale at the studio how big the impact on the game will be.

Damn. An unfortunate end. The end of an era, indeed. :(

It just comes to show how screwed Konami really is for getting into bed with Sony. Hell, it was Sony who put them in this financial predicament in the first place!

Same with Square Enix constantly pandering hard to Sony consoles in order to help save Sony from tanking, meanwhile they have been doing horrible themselves financially in the process.
Ironically, DS/3DS has been their savior, cheap to make games and they sell extremely well.
